Salaryman
noun | sal • a • ry • man | \- man \
: a Japanese white-collar businessman
In contemporary Japan, “salary man” is an identity of Japanese society that has wreaked havoc on the lives of many families and continues to be an example of unjust labor laws in the country.

This calendar is based on the extremely demanding, and stressful work life of the Japanese white-collar worker known as the Salaryman. The layout is inspired by the metro system train map. As the months progress, it transitions from order to chaos. The font Helvetica was chosen because of its bold, yet subtle typefaces such as light and black condensed oblique. These fonts help to convey the emotions of the Salaryman.
Sample Spreads from months 1, 6, 8 and 12.
